Hi, everyone.
We're getting ready for the Met Gala,
and I am wearing Vetements.
So this is our second Met Gala,
and obviously last year we dove headfirst and did the most.
We're very excited this year teaming up with Vetements,
just doing something very different
than she's ever done before
and not taking it so serious this time around.
[mellow music]
The aesthetic is fuck you, in a way.
And I just like how that sounds
and it's kind of, it just feels sexy and fun
and different and refreshing to me
to kind of go in a wet t-shirt, butt-ass naked
to the Met Gala.
I don't think people know
or have any idea what we're going to do.
I've seen many jokes of like,
Oh, she's gonna show up naked.
She's, like, doing this, she's doing that.
But we always have a good sense of shock value
that no one ever knows what's next.
It's almost like we're trying, we're laid back,
but it's not because I'm soaking and like sopping wet.
Pause. [camera beeps]
What about a silver? [laughs]
Silver bags?
I have silver bags.

We're doing a, it's almost crying.
It's kind of like crying.
It's almost like I've just been doused with something
or I got out of the pool in a way.
So it's like tears coming down from the eye line,
and then they're gonna mix like a loose glitter
into the tears.
We're gonna finish the face, powder it down,
like, we're just gonna be done and go out.
But then we're gonna stop and do the tears,
and it's gonna break down the makeup a little bit.
But we're gonna add in that loose glitter to the tears
to give it a little bit more of a purpose
In a way, like, we're an enchanted garden and
Exactly.
Could be tears of beauty.
Tears of happiness.
Yeah, tears of joy.
And so, now we've crystallized them
with a really fine, beautiful pigment
and this beautiful kind of Doja, beautiful smoky eye,
you know, pulled out into a point.
And the beautiful brows that we always have.
Perfected skin, outlined lip, right?
Yes, absolutely. Exquisite.
As a creative director and as a stylist,
it's been really one of my favorite things
I've ever able to be a part of
because it is a real and true collaboration.
It's not me just showing up with a rack of clothes
and being like, You're gonna wear this
'cause it's fashion.
It's more there's a thought behind it,
and it's just really exciting.
So last year we wanted to hide the look
before we hit the carpet.
So this year Gurum had the idea to wrap her in a towel,
'cause when she first came in for the fitting
she was just in a towel,
and he was like, Oh my God, I love this.
Let's do a Vetements towel.
And it kind of just came together.
And then he also brought up the idea to hide her face
with a Vogue magazine.
So we literally see nothing.
It's not giving the look away,
It feels part of the vibe.
It's just something to add to the book.
Yeah.
[camera shutter clicks] [mellow music]
I think the idea of not taking it so serious
and really focusing on the art of things
is the more exciting thing.
There are so many amazing young
and fresh designers out there
that are doing really cool and exciting stuff that, like,
don't take it serious.
If it looks good on you and you feel good in it,
happy Met Gala.
